FAQ

How do you photograph weddings?

I love being by my couples side on their wedding day to soothe their nerves and make the day run smoothly. I adapt to how the day goes. If the day is running late, I speed up! No matter what time scale I am given to capture the formal photos you are guaranteed beautiful images to look back on and remember happiest day of your life. On your wedding day, all I want is to capture the feelings, the mood, the emotions, the calm and crazy moments and all the details that make your wedding unique. I want to tell the story of your day through photography.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I am based in Aberdeenshire and am more than willing to travel to any location. Next year I am travelling to Italy for my first destination wedding and I cannot contain my excitement for it! If you are getting married abroad and would like a quote and to discuss your plans please get in touch.

When will we get our photos?

You will receive an online gallery link with all your photos around 6 weeks after the wedding. If your wedding is during peak season there may be a slightly longer wait. You can instantly download all the photos from the gallery, share them and choose your favourites for creating an album.

The USB allows you to print the images yourself. If you would like to order high quality prints/products through me there is an online shop on the gallery.

FAQ

What is the difference between a pre wedding and engagement shoot?

The only difference between the two shoots is the timing of them. Some couples will ask about removing the added on shoot from their package as they're not huge fans of having their photo taken but I would always recommend doing it. We'll all get to know each other better by spending more time together and you'll feel more relaxed on the big day as you'll know what to expect. It's an excellent way to have a feel of what it's like to be photographed as a couple, doing romantic poses and a bit of PDA in front of someone new can be a bit of a daunting thought.. My couples all say I made them feel at ease and relaxed during the shoot and once they had seen their gallery they felt super excited! They all agree that it's great to get a run through of poses before the wedding so they know what different poses they like and if there is any they don't like, we can skip those ones on the big day.

Pre wedding shoot

The pre wedding shoot is arranged for around 2-3 months before the big day. I personally would always recommend choosing the pre wedding shoot as it's so useful to have all the poses fresh in both of your minds by getting a little bit of practice in on the run up to the wedding. I get in touch with you around 6 months before the wedding to get a date arranged. The earlier the date the better incase the wondrous Scottish weather doesn't play ball and we need to reschedule.

Engagement shoot

The engagement shoot is usually booked in for few weeks or months after securing your wedding date with myself. Some couples opt for an engagement shoot to serve a purpose which might involve using the photos on your save the date cards or to be incorporated into your wedding website. On the other hand it can just be a wonderful opportunity to have professional photos taken together to celebrate that exciting newly engaged period in your lives, a special time to look back on!

Where do we do the shoot?

If you have a special location in mind, I'd love to hear about it! Many couples have a location where they would like to shoot that is important to them. I've seen people choose locations from their childhood, where they went on their first date or even just where they enjoy going on walks every now and again. I am open to travelling within reason to your preferred location. If you can't think of anywhere I am happy to recommend some great spots!

What days and time can our shoot take place?

I am super flexible with dates and can manage one that will suit you both. I can accommodate a time through the week or at the weekend. For me, golden hour is the most magical time to get some truly stunning photos that reflects your love for one and other as best as I can. Golden hour takes place in the evening just before the sun goes down. The dreamy, glowing light makes everything look so perfect. The timing of golden hour depends on the time of year. I will keep you right on when is best to do it when we arrange a date.

What should we wear?

First and foremost, you need to feel like yourself! Don't feel like you have to dress in a certain way. Some couples like to dress up more and some prefer to have a more relaxed and casual look. Only you will know what is best for you.
You don't have to colour coordinate with your partner. Look for colours that compliment each other and please try to avoid colours that clash. Big logos and slogans on your clothing can be distracting, try to avoid these awell.

KIND WORDS

Gary & Sarah

Christie has captured so many incredible moments in my life from family portraits, graduation day, my engagement and then my wedding and each time I find it difficult to thank her for giving me images that capture so many raw emotions.
